Just bought a Lagoon 42
After many years of waiting, looking, saving and dreaming Karene and I bought a 1995 TPI Lagoon 42. It is currently moored in LA so we will move it back to the Pacific North West. Hopefully moorage will be available at Point Roberts so we can stay at our favorite marina. The boat is in pretty good shape and only requires some maintenance type work. The standing rigging needs to be done before we head north from San Francisco. Karene and I will sail from LA to SF around Oct 9 -10 via the Channel islands. This is the first time we have being sailing in 4 years so it will take some time to get used to the sailboat and doing longer passages. There is a pile of stuff that needs to be done before we leave the dock so there are lists as long as the boom. Karene keeps pointing out that most people spend years getting ready to do a trip down the west coast – the “easy way” – we are getting everything done in a week, including provisioning, maintenance, learning the boat, installing a new GPS plotter and and loading spares. I am going to post pics on my photo gallery at http://petew.smugmug.com and on this page and see if I can put a story together for some magazines.
This will be an interesting experience.
